The Scriptures of the Old Testament (39 books) and New Testaments (27 books) are the verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, infallible, and God-breathed. Thus, they are the final authoritative rule for all faith and life. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12-13)
The Godhead
There is but one God, the Maker, Preserver, and Ruler of all things; who has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit without division of essences, attributes, or perfections, yet distinct in person, office, and function. (Deuteronomy 6:4; II Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 28:19)
God the Father
God the Father is the creator of the Heavens and the our universe. By his word and power God is holding everything together achieving his plans and purpose. He is perfect in all his thoughts and ways, which are infinity higher than humans thoughts and ways. God is love, and because of his great love he sent his own son into the world to rescue sinners who are separated from him. For the believer, God has adopted us into his family so that we have become his children and he has become our father. This means he loves his children with an everlasting, unfailing, perfect love and he accepts us completely. It also means that he will teach and discipline his children so that we may become more like his own son, Jesus. (Genesis 1:1, John 3:16, 1 John 4:8, Galatians 4:5 - 7, Hebrews 12:9-11,
God the Son - Jesus
Jesus Christ, (the only begotten Son of God), pre-existent in the form of God, took upon Himself sinless human nature by the Virgin Birth in order that He might perfectly fulfill the law, suffer and die upon the cross, be buried and rise again on the third day, reveal God and redeem mankind. His death, burial, and resurrection was representative, vicarious, and substitutionary, and accomplished complete salvation. Now ascended, He is exalted at the right hand of God where He ever lives to make intercession for the saints. (John 1:1-2, 14; Luke 1:35; Romans 3:24-25; 6:1-5; Hebrews 9:24; Romans 8:31; I John 2:1-2)
God the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the divine person who convinces the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement; and regenerates, baptizes, seals, and indwells all believers unto the day of redemption. He is the author of spiritual gifts and fruit, and continually fills those who yield to Him. (John 16:8-11; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30; 5:18)
Humans
Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God to reflect the goodness and beauty of God. Being tempted by Satan, he sinned by disobeying the command of God, thus breaking the relationship with God. Sinned has changed man's original state so that to the core man is tainted, morally polluted and physically mortal. Being separated from God, man is totally depraved and spiritually dead. (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3:1-6; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12; I Corinthians 15:53)
Salvation
Salvation from sin and its eternal punishment is the gift of God's grace, purchased by the perfect life, death and resurrection of Christ. Salvation is received by personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. All who trust and believe in Jesus are kept by God's power, and may rejoice in the assurance of salvation through the testimony of God's Word. (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:35-39; I Peter 1:5; Romans 8:14-16; I John 5:13)
The Church
The Church is not a religious institution or denomination. Rather, the Church, over which the Lord Jesus is the Head, is a spiritual organism made up of all people who have a personal faith in Jesus. The Church exists to worship God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit by sharing the good news of Jesus, making disciples and teaching others to love like Jesus did. The local church is governed by the plurality of elders and deacons, and recognizes the ordinances of Water Baptism and the Lord's Supper. These are not part of salvation, but should be an expression of salvation. (Ephesians 1:22-23; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Acts 14:27; 20:17; I Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11; Acts 20:28; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; I Corinthians 11:23-26)
