North County Community Church is a planned spin-off church from Clayton Community church. Mark Brauss and Bob Levin were brought together by the Lord to pray for and discuss a vision to start a new church. With the blessing of C.C.C, these two men, with a group of approximately 32 adults and 10 children began to meet for nine months to become unified in vision and to prepare to start a church. In October of 1982 NCCC was formed.
From October of 1982 to July of 1986, the church rented space from Berkeley Presbyterian. During these years the congregation grew from about 40 to over 125 adult and children and then purchased First Baptist Church of Berkeley. Growth continued steadily and through God's leading in some very incredible ways, the First Baptist of Berkeley facility was sold to a church from Kinloch. That financed the purchase of a four acre piece of land on Howdershell Road. The house on that land was converted into our offices. In September 1995 we broke ground on a new 20,000 square foot facility, which was completed in December 21, 1996. This is the facility where we currently meet.
