We are entering the season of spring after experiencing a difficult winter… full of snow…then flooding… then snow flurries. We celebrated Easter… a resurrection of a carpenter from Nazareth. His trial was the most incredible miscarriage of justice and his death was brutal, vicious, and tragic. The horror of Good Friday was transformed by the power of Easter. The world would never be the same again.

From a grave outside Jerusalem, resurrected life sprung forth. The Roman guard could not quell the power of the truth… this Jesus who they had crucified… walked the streets that bore his blood. The scattered disciples full of fear were infused with new life. Fear was replaced with power. The promise of the Holy Spirit filled Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost.

John, the Apostle, records the powerful truth of these events when he writes,

“But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31)
