While the adults are upstairs, the kids are in the basement for something that's great for their ages. We call our Sunday morning times with school age children FUSE.
The first thing to do is stop by the computer station in the basement where every child will be checked in. (An adult needs to accompany any children being checked in.) After a child is check-in, he/she will go to a small group in a nearby classroom with other close to his/her age for about 10 to 15 minutes until large group begins. Leaders will use this opening small group time to get to know the kids and introduce them to some of the ideas for the day. All kids kindergarten - 5th grade will get together for about 30 minutes for a large group time including things like singing, games, videos, a bible story time, object illustrations and fun, fun fun! The kids go back to their small groups for the last 30 minutes where they review what they just learned about, discussion of how it affects their lives, and do activities to reinforce both.
